Zurich is currently looking for a Principal Risk Engineer
Specialist. This is a work from home virtual role with a periodic
office presence. Ideally, candidates would be located near a Zurich
office and major airport. Travel is up to 25% and could be subject
to change.
In this role you will be responsible for :
Lead the Risk Engineering Technical Center team for Middle
Markets.
Drives the deployment of Middle Market technical training
initiatives.
Provide Middle Market technical support and authority to risk
engineers, involved in the delivery of risk assessment and risk
improvement services to customers and business partners.
Responsible for Middle Market-specific technical updates and
maintenance of organizational knowledge, including a leading line
of business or industry-specific technical reviews and
projects.
Provides effective advice on risk management issues to external
customers and internal business partners.
Participates in loss investigations.
Leads and advises in competency management activities, including
the monitoring of mentoring activities and competency sign-off,
where appropriate.
Drives the development and delivery of technical standards and
training.
Represents Zurich by participating with industry-specific
professional organizations, contributing to safety standards that
respond appropriately to emerging risks.
Business Accountabilities:
Develop processes and review policies relevant to Middle Markets to
ensure they are in line with strategic business objectives.
Participate as lead risk engineering technical specialist for
Middle Markets to enable the implementation of policy, projects and
change initiatives.
Control the technical quality and professional standards of Middle
Markets risk engineering function to deliver a consistently
high-quality service to customers.
Manage the development of Middle Market training with relevant
technical standards to deliver a consistently high-quality service
to customers.
Develop, propose and, where appropriate, lead the implementation of
initiatives to improve processes, develop policies and generate
innovation in the risk engineering field.
Conduct core analysis based on research and modeling to understand
and quantify the risks associated with proposed policies,
regulatory change, or other external factors (e.g. environmental,
political, economic).
Analyze and review complex data from multiple sources to make
informed, authoritative technical/professional recommendations to
improve business performance in the medium and longer term.
Develops Thought Leadership content for customer publications and
marketing initiatives.
Lead and provide advice in the mentoring and training of risk
engineering specialists, confirming sign-off of technical abilities
to maintain consistent standards.
Responsible for Middle Market technical updates and maintenance of
organizational knowledge to deliver consistent results to
customers.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk
Engineering areaOR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of
experience in the Risk Engineering area
Preferred Qualifications:
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array
of factors including but not limited to the specific office
location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Compensation
provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for
the applicable geographic differential associated with the location
where the position may be filled. As required by local law, Zurich
provides in good faith a reasonable range of compensation for

rewards may include short term incentive bonuses and merit
increases.The starting salary range for the position is:
$128,200.00 - $176,300.00.
