Network Engineer -Last Revised: May 18, 2023 -ITST012A -Grade
019A -Exempt (FLSA Code) Non Management Staff Technicians -PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES -Under the guidance of the SVP of Information
Technology and in accordance with established policies and
procedures, the Network Engineer will be responsible for designing,
analyzing, problem solving, configuring, implementing, and patch
VMware, Microsoft, Cisco network, infrastructure, and communication
systems. The incumbent is responsible for designing implementing
and maintaining a variety of network and infrastructure
technologies and configurations to meet the organizations short and
long term objectives, while ensuring all controls and
configurations meet or exceed industry standards. The incumbent
must understand how to adapt organizational requirements and best
practices with industry standards to mitigate current and future
possible threats to the organizations' infrastructure. Working
closely with the SVP of IT and other IT team members this incumbent
is responsible for keeping the organizations' network servers,
routers, Cisco voice (Call manager, unity, contact center express)
and VMware configurations and version current. The incumbent will
be responsible for, advising and recommending additional resources
necessary to support and achieve the organizations' overall goals
and mission. -Accountabilities & Measures -Key Accountabilities -1.

culture. -2. Work with all IT department team members to maintain
the Network, Infrastructure, Communications, and VMware
environment. -3. Maintain policies and procedures outlining and
supporting the organization's goals and objects -4. Stay abreast of
industry standards and proactively maintain patch levels, filters,
and parameters to mitigate threats. -5. Conduct monthly review of
patching levels. -6. The ability to use Microsoft, Cisco and VMware
tools to maintain network, infrastructure, security, and
communications systems and components. -7. Designs, configures,
implements, modifies, changes, and updates network, infrastructure,
security, and communications components as needed or required to
meet the organizations short and long term objectives. -8. Performs
annual network user access reviews.Success Measures -1. Clean
audits from outside vendors. -2. Timely installation of all
network, system, and component updates, patches, and releases. -3.
All network, system, and component inventories, licenses, and
certificates kept accurate and up to date. -4. Timely completion of
Network and VMWare environments. -5. Timely completion of system
and network access reviews. -ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS -1. Adheres to the

IT and IT Department team members to ensure best practice network
and infrastructure designs, and configures and implementation test
scripts for proof of concepts. Makes recommendations on designs and
system replacements based on best practices. -3. Responsible for
all infrastructure patches, upgrades, configurations, and
administrations. Requires working with vendors on product changes
and internal IT departments team members to implement new
platforms, ensuring compliance with security requirements. -4.
Responsible for designing, configuration, implementation and
administrations of Cisco phone system, voicemail, call center, and
call routing as required to meet organization, affiliate, or
business area project objectives. -5. Assists SVP of IT and IT
Department team members with reviewing infrastructure security
alerts, abnormalities, and patterns and make adjustments to
controls and or configurations to prevent breaches, service outage,
or system loss. -6. Stays up-to-date with all network server
operating systems (Microsoft, Citrix, linux, Cisco ), Cisco
communications / collaborations, Cisco routing and switching, Cisco
Nexsus, and VMware vulnerabilities, patches, alerts, and breaches.
-7. Responsible for providing timely systems and network reports to
the SVP of IT. Reporting may require writing summaries based on
vendor findings, internal incidents, or the results of internal
scans and network performance. -8. Works with IT Department team
members to identify network inefficiencies through routine network
performance testing. -9. Maintains technical knowledge through
continuing education. -10. Works with SVP of IT and IT Department
team members in evaluating all vendor technologies, controls,
configurations, patches, and administrations to ensure
consistencies and adheres to NHMB standards. -11. Satisfactorily
completes all required compliance training and complies with all
regulations which apply within the scope of the position. -12.
Performs additional duties as requested. -MINIMUM PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS -Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and
comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards with
moderate level of noise. Minimal physical effort required; normally
seated with the freedom of movement on a regular basis; handling of
light materials, supplies. Independent means of transportation with
ability to travel between Bank offices periodically. May have long
period of time working at a PC terminal. -DESIRED EDUCATION
-College -DESIRED DEGREE -Bachelor's -DESIRED MAJOR -Information
Technology & Systems -DESIRED JOB EXPERIENCE -Minimum of Four to
six years' experience with and performing the following:
Implementing Microsoft, VMware, and Cisco industry standards and
best practices in a Banking environment; Using network tools;
Analyzing and performing Cisco, Microsoft, and VMware
installations, updates, patches, and configuration changes for
various network and infrastructure systems and components;
Proficient in all active directory best practices and group
policies; Developing and implementing server, VMware, and Active
Directory controls; Must have thorough understanding of Microsoft
Active Directory, VMWare, and operating systems. Must be able to
analyze server and VMware controls, configurations, and interfaces
for to interface with a verity of platforms, services, and networks
such as Wireless, VoIP, Cisco IOS, VMWare, Windows, Firewalls,
Proxies, Storage, Apple, Email, and so on. Must be able to provide
independent analysis and recommendation as needed. -OTHER
QUALIFICATIONS -Ability to multitask, make quick decisions and work
under stressful conditions; able to work and participate in a team
environment; Good overall understanding of VMWare, EMC, and
Microsoft technologies; Excellent communication skills. Ability to
translate complex ideas into simple solutions on paper or verbally
with a thorough understanding of network technologies.
-CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED -Must possess at a minimum any combination
of the following certifications (MCSA, MTA, VCP, CompTIA A+) or
combination of relevant work experience and certifications.
