The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and management of fisheries and aquatic habitats. This role is perfect for someone who has a passion for the environment and a deep understanding of aquatic ecosystems. The Fisheries Engineer will work collaboratively with a team of engineers and environmental scientists to develop and implement sustainable and effective solutions for fisheries management. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.Responsibilities:1. Design and implement projects related to fisheries habitats, including spawning grounds, fish ladders, and hatcheries. 2. Conduct detailed studies and assessments on the impact of various projects on fish populations and aquatic ecosystems.3. Collaborate with a team of engineers and environmental scientists to provide innovative and sustainable solutions for fisheries management.4. Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders, including government agencies and community groups.5. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and other environmental organizations.8. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and technologies in the field of fisheries engineering.Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or PhD would be an added advantage.2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in fisheries engineering or a related field.3. Strong understanding of aquatic ecosystems and fisheries management.4. Proficient in using engineering software, such as AutoCAD, HEC-RAS, and GIS.5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.6. Strong communication and presentation skills.7. Ability to work collaboratively with a team of engineers and environmental scientists.8. Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to fisheries and aquatic habitats.9. Certified Fisheries Professional (CFP) certification from the American Fisheries Society or equivalent is preferred.10.
