currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer. This position will report
out of the PST facility located in Concord, NH. Key
ResponsibilitiesThe Mechanical Engineer will support the
Engineering Manager by designing and integrating mechanical and
electromechanical machines for use in thermal spray systems. This
will include working on all equipment stages from development to
design and manufacture, through installation and final
commissioning. In addition, candidate will provide day -to-day
technical support with emphasis on plant improvements by
interfacing with various functional teams including safety,
quality, production, maintenance, and productivity. Additional
duties include customer support, system diagnosis, spare parts
recommendations, consumable materials, assist operations in the
assembly and/or testing of product and other duties as
assigned.
- Specifies and tests mechanical and electromechanical system and
product capabilities, applying principles of mechanics, fluids,
thermodynamics, heat transfer, and materials
- Designs equipment using motors, VFDs, gears, sensors,
pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, regulators, flow control devices,
and robotics
- Produces manufacturing and assembly drawings in accordance with
applicable machine design and drafting standards Integrate safe
design concepts in all products and projects
- Integrates mechanical and electromechanical products by
reviewing customer requirements using proven manufacturing and
assembly methods and materials
- Develops manufacturing and installation procedures by designing
and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and
installing components
- Determines project and equipment specifications by reviewing
product design, customer requirements, performance standards, and
preparing cost estimates
- Determines project schedule by reviewing/ creating project plan
and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing
project elements
- Controls and maintains established project plan by developing
and reviewing designs, specifications, project schedule, expenses,
coordinating activities and resolving issues
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and
summarizing information
- Develops and reviews equipment P&ID, maintenance, and PM
schedules
- Creates presales layouts and 3D rendered images for use in
proposals and brochures
- Understanding global engineering and safety standards as
related to machine design
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by utilizing
corporate procedures, rules, and regulations
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with
government regulations and standards
- Participate in Design Review, Process Hazard Analysis and
Engineering Management of Change meetings as needed
- Support continuous improvement within the engineering group
i.e. development of standards, engineering tools, etc

- BS Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 5+ years' experience in mechanical and machine design
- Advanced 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred)
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
associated with industrial equipment installations
- Properly organization and computer skills
- Knowledge of instrumentation and associated controls
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including installation and
operation
- Collaborates with developers, fellow engineers, project
managers, customers, and other stakeholders to understand the
requirements and scope of projectsSkills Preferred:
- MS Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Experience in industrial equipment
- FE / PE certification
- Ansys CFD experience
- Knowledge and experience with safety standards such as LOTO,
PHA, NFPA, UL, CE, CCC, ISO
- Practical manufacturing experience in machining and fabrication
techniques
- Ability to use common PLC software programs to field test and
troubleshoot (AB Preferred)
- Ability to troubleshoot process equipment to the component
level
