retained to identify the incoming Vice President of Development on
behalf of our client, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England
(PPNNE). PPNNE is the largest reproductive health care and
sexuality education provider and advocate in Vermont, New
Hampshire, and Southern Maine. This incredible and rewarding
full-time position is for immediate hire, and can operate from
Headquarters in Colchester, Vermont or remotely from your location
based in Vermont, New Hampshire, or Maine.About Planned Parenthood

reproductive and sexual health education in the U.S, and the
essence of Planned Parenthood as an organization is in the
neighborhoods they serve: Planned Parenthood's 49 distinct and
locally run affiliates are the umbrella for more than 600 health
centers nationwide, and each of these health centers serves a
variety of communities with increasingly diverse needs.Formed in
1965, Planned Parenthood of Northern New England now provides
reproductive health care and education to thousands of patients at
21 locations across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. In addition
to delivering medically accurate sex education and health services
that empower people to make informed choices, Planned Parenthood of
Northern New England is a passionate advocate for legislation that
enables access to comprehensive reproductive and sexual health
care, education, and information for all without
restriction.Position OverviewThe Vice President of Development, a
skilled relationship builder, will lead a geographically dispersed,
energetic, and experienced Development team of 15 to continually
grow philanthropic resources to support the organization's
commitment to provide, promote, and protect access to reproductive
health care and sexuality education so that all people can make
voluntary choices regarding their reproductive and sexual health.
The ideal candidate will be a mission-driven leader who
enjoys/thrives in a role that is both autonomous and highly
collaborative, brings maturity and authenticity in engaging with
supporters, and exhibits the highest level of trust, confidence,
and professionalism. The Vice President of Development will
champion the creation and integration of effective strategies for
developing relationships with major gift prospects as well as the
strategic creation and execution of other successful fundraising
strategies. Their approach will include an analysis of the
intersections of systemic racism and philanthropy and continually
seek to dismantle systems of oppression embedded in the non-profit
funding model. The Vice President of Development partners closely
with the Board of Directors, routinely engaging with Trustees and
other internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery on
fundraising goals and objectives as well as directly solicit and
close gifts from major donors and prospects. Reporting directly to
the CEO of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, the Vice
President of Development is an important member of the
organization's leadership team and provides strategic input into
all aspects of PPNNE!Key Responsibilities* Provide collaborative
leadership and management of the department's staff and fundraising
efforts to achieve or exceed PPNNE's annual fundraising goal while
meeting the fundraising revenue to expense ratio required by
Planned Parenthood Federation of America.* Develop the strategic
plan for advancing the organizational donor development program; to
include stewardship strategies focused on major gifts, Foundation
giving, planned giving, and individual giving.* Cultivate and
steward relationships with high-net-worth potential donor prospects
and established donors alike; lead pipeline development of
current/prospective donors at major gift levels. * Provide
leadership and support for Board members and other volunteers to
cultivate and solicit financial support from the private sector.
Ensure the growth of this volunteer base to meet the agency's
current and future fiscal needs and provide appropriate training
and/or information for successful identification, cultivation,
solicitation and stewardship of prospects and donors.* Recruit,
train, and mentor the Development team, maximizing opportunities
for growth and continued success.* Oversee efforts which ensure
donors and prospects are informed of key organizational initiatives
and individual donation impact through continuous and
relationship-oriented communication.* Bring a philosophy of
continuous quality improvement to the oversight of PPNNE's
fundraising program, continually identifying, and evaluating system
enhancements to best achieve strategic goals. Create, monitor, and
report on fundraising plan progress as well as budgets.* Lead the
strategic increase of philanthropy, especially from foundations and
new sectors of potential donors. * Serve as a collaborative member
of the agency's senior management team, participating in the
development and implementation of overall agency goals, policies,
and public image. Contribute to efforts at the local, state, and
national level.Major ObjectivesWithin the first 12 to 18 months,
the Vice President of Development will achieve the following major
objectives:* Ensure the Development team is on track to meet and
exceed the collective goal of $10M raised on behalf of PPNNE by
2023.* Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major
gift ($5K+) donors and prospects that meet and exceed all activity
metrics and revenue goals.* Translate PPNNE's strategic vision into
high-quality cultivations materials that allow donors and
volunteers to see the ways in which their money makes a difference
in fueling the community. * Foster the creation and enhancement of
strong, collaborative working relationships within PPNNE to further
inspire trust, enhance collaboration, optimize performance, and
maximize confidence.Qualifications* A deep, unwavering, passionate
commitment to Planned Parenthood's mission.* 5+ years of experience
leading teams in the implementation of diversified fundraising
programs with a proven ability to exceed established goals through
recruiting and effectively managing staff and volunteers toward
fundraising objectives. * 5+ years of successful fundraising
experience in managing high level donor and prospect relationships
with a proven record of soliciting major gifts at the six-figure or
greater level. Experience with both 501(c)3 and 501(c)4
organizations is ideal! * A collaborative, energetic self-starter
with the ability to partner closely with sophisticated, affluent
donors.* Deep understanding of Northern New England and the
variances which exist for each state (Maine, Vermont, and New
Hampshire). * A strong listener with tact, integrity, and
sensitivity needed to successfully engage with a diverse staff as
well as range of donors, volunteers, and community members.*

Ability to work flexible hours and travel frequently throughout
Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire, including some evenings and

Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills, in
addition to a proven ability to communicate issues and convey an
agenda to a broader audience.* Ability to work well with the Board,
volunteers, and program and medical staff, as well as the ability
to play a strong collaborative role on the senior management
