Summary The Administrative Director of Support Services is responsible for the administrative leadership and operational oversight of specific support services at Concord Hospital, Concord Hospital - Laconia and Concord Hospital - Franklin. In this role, the Administrative Director of Support Services will lead Facilities, Property Management, Safety & Emergency Management and Security across the health system, He/she will have responsibilty for approximately 114 FTEs and a $28.5 million operating budget The Administrative Director will report directly to Kevin McCarthy, the Vice President of Support Services and Chief Administrative Officer for Concord Hospital - Laconia & Franklin. Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Facilities Management or a related field is required. Master's degree in business/healthcare administration or a related field is strongly preferred. License/Certification CHC, CHFM, CHESP or CMRP certification is desirable but not required. Experience At least five years of progressive leadership experience in an acute care hospital environment. Support services leadership experience is desired but not required. A demonstrated track record of improving healthcare operations is required. This may include improvements in quality, safety, productivity, efficiency, financial performance and customer satisfaction. Candidate must have experience with relevant performance indicators, operational benchmarking and establishing expectations for accountability. He/she must be able to use data to support analysis and solutions. He/she should possess experience applying best practices and innovative strategies to improve performance metrics and the customer experience. Experience establishing, building and developing positive relationships with staff and leaders across the health system. Must be a highly visible, engaged, take charge leader who has a willingness to coach and mentor. Knowledge and understanding of State, Federal and DNV accreditation requirements. Skills and Abilities Must be a leader who will embrace organizational improvement and always look for ways to enhance quality, safety, customer experience, and operating performance. A results-oriented leader with demonstrated ability to lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives and improve operating performance. A skilled team leader and mentor of high performing teams capable of building on and enhancing a climate of trust, cooperation and collaboration among team members. Ability to lead, coach and mentor others, ensuring timely and appropriate performance management, conflict resolution and high employee engagement. Superior communication, facilitation, negotiation and listening skills. Must be able to foster open communication and be open and receptive to the ideas and suggestions of others. Must have the ability to analyze advanced problems and difficult situations, identify options and solutions, make and implement decisions and know when to escalate matters requiring higher level support and assistance. Candidate must be honest and lead with integrity, transparency, and authenticity. Candidate must be both decisive and collaborative. He/she must be approachable and have the ability to build highly collaborative relationships across functions and levels of the organization. Candidate must have excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Candidate must have excellent organization and time management skills that include the ability to prioritize and adjust work flow according changing patient and organizational needs. Responsibilities Effectively lead specific Support Services at three hospital locations. This includes providing oversight and direction to the Director level leaders who have responsibility for the day to day operations of these Support Services departments. In conjunction with Department Directors, develop, implement and achieve annual operating and capital budgets. In partnership with the VP of Support Services, assist with the development and implementation of key strategic and operational initiatives that facilitate operational and financial improvements. Work in conjunction with the VP of Support Services to further integrate support services across the health system. Serve as administrative liaison to committees including but not limited to Environment of Care, Major Facilities, Real Estate, Space and Workplace Violence. Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Drive innovation and the consideration of new ideas, approaches and solutions. Encourage creativity in problem solving and inspire leaders and staff to continually search for more effective and efficient ways to perform tasks and achieve goals. Develop open and robust communication channels between staff, leadership and other departments to create an integrated, collaborative, high performing work environment within support services..
