The Lead Product Manager is responsible for the strategic management of the LDI Courses and Sessions suite of products, including OnDemand. As the product leader, you will bring deep market knowledge and customer insights to bear across a breadth of functional disciplines including product development, product marketing, digital content production, and customer support.This position will also be responsible for deep understanding of the various customer segments (B2B and B2C) and discipline areas within the portfolio. Based on market research and customer needs, the Lead Product Manager will create market development plans that include market problems validation, concept testing, beta testing, and other activities to seed the market and guide iterative improvements; define new product ideas; craft compelling business cases; and explore partnerships to augment our technology capabilities or content.As a market-facing leader, you will closely monitor and interpret changes in the competitive environment, you will develop a deep understanding of our practitioner market through ongoing primary and secondary research, and you will glean insights through analysis of product usage and sales databases. This role requires exceptional communication skills including business reviews with senior division leadership, leadership of cross functional initiative teams to ensure teams are aligned, on schedule and motivated, and status updates for the entire team who work on our product lines.The person in this role must be a strategic thinker who drives growth with passion and persistence, thrives on uncovering new opportunities through customer research, enjoys business development, possesses experience forging third-party partnerships and demonstrates a track record of launching successful new products.This role can be a fully remote role based anywhere in the USEssential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Become our primary voice of the customer expert by conducting primary and secondary research at both the SME and practitioner level; advocate for our customers and ensure that they are at the center of every decision we make.
  • Forecast and plan for portfolio annually, considering market trends, global opportunities, customer needs, competitive landscape, and VSP.
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations to senior leaders, sales representatives, and customers.
  • Define and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance and influence development needs, working closely with Analytics to ensure relevant data is reported.
  • Establish a deep expertise in the lean startup methodology and drive and evangelize the use of this methodology for core and new growth opportunities. Direct small cross functional teams in the execution of plans for fast market entry and rapid testing and iteration of the product value proposition including features, pricing and positioning. Propose increased investments in product and marketing based on successful experiments and in-market results.
  • Prioritize and iterate strategic roadmap, guiding user story mapping and communicating customer problems to solve and jobs to be done.
  • Research and initiate new product concepts, features, and areas of expansion by collaborating with editorial colleagues to conduct interviews with key roles virtually and at their institutions, attend and network at professional meetings, meet with SMEs, and read survey feedback and reviews.
  • Design experiments to effectively test new concepts and deliver high value to the market quickly.
  • Create compelling business cases, for major investments to existing products or new products, that communicate the vision, market potential, customer value proposition, and competitive differentiation backed by data.
  • Ensure new product ideas have a clear plan for commercialization grounded in understanding the decision maker and buyer, conducting market development to ensure early adopters of beta and immediately upon launch, and collaborating on strategic pricing and distribution strategies.
  • Plan and execute successful Go to Market in collaboration with marketing, Customer Support and sales enablement colleagues, actively participating in closing the first sales by product launch.
  • Overall accountability for business performance as measured by Net Promoter Score, Customer Retention, Net Sales Growth, Revenue and Gross Margin.Job QualificationsEducation:
    • Bachelors Degree is required, Masters Degree in related subject preferred
    • 7-10 years of product management experience, with a minimum of 2 years managing digital B2B or B2C products. Knowledge and experience in Healthcare and Educational Technology a strong plusOther Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or Certifications:Required:
      • Experience conducting market research, including conjoint research, contextual inquiry and other qualitative and quantitative techniques
      • Ability to develop strategic business plans.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
      • Excellent presentation skills, both creating slides and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences.
      • High degree of professionalism and executive presence.
      • Ability to provide clear vision and direction while attending to details.
      • Ability to guide a research agenda aimed at continually understanding customer needs and market trends.
      • Experience as innovator who synthesizes multiple sources of customer feedback to uncover new opportunities.
      • Strong project management skills, setting and meeting deadlines and communicating risks.
      • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
      • Strong analytic and financial skills to forecast and analyze data and trends.
      • Negotiation and problem-solving skills.Preferred:
        • Familiarity with lean and agile development processes
        • Experience in the Science/ Health market
