Job Description:
SummaryManages and oversees all aspects of credentialing,
including appointment, reappointment, privileging and temporary
privileges for Medical Staff members and Health Professional
Affiliates in the medical staff departments. Manages meeting
support tasks associated with these departments. Collaborates with
physician leaders to develop and maintain criteria based clinical
privileging. Coordinates and develops on-boarding processes
(orientation, training activities). Keeps abreast of current
requirements and any changes from regulatory agencies (e.g. CMS
Conditions of Participation, State laws, and federal regulations)
that impact the credentialing processes and applies this knowledge
to credentialing practices. Ensures compliance with the Concord
Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations. Manages
meeting support tasks associated with the Credentials Committee and
related committees functions and decisions. Assists with
accreditation survey preparation for the Medical Staff Services
department and the Medical Staff.EducationBachelor's degree (B.A.)
from four-year college or university; or two years related
experience and/or training.Certification, Registration &
LicensureNone required.ExperienceTo perform this job successfully,
an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel,
Access, and Word. Internet Explorer, Credentialing systems and
Provider Enrollment experience preferred.ResponsibilitiesManages
and performs critical analysis of each initial credentialing and
privileging application to determine eligibility for
membership/participation for Medical Staff Membership and Health
Professional Affiliates. Processes temporary privileges and proctor
credentialing requests as outlined in policies.Manages meeting
support tasks for Medical Staff Department meetings and Credentials
Committee meetings (as applicable).Ensures accuracy and integrity
of the credentialing and clinical privileging database.Assists the
Research and Education Coordinator in the facilitation of the
NHMS's Accreditation of the Hospital to be a Continuing Medical
Education provider.Executes new and ongoing continuing medical
education programs for the Medical Staff.Works on behalf of
eligible providers to register and attest for participation in the
Electronic Health Record incentive programs (meaningful
use).Processes requests for reappointments, re-privileging,
reapplication, leave of absencerequests, additional privilege
requests, staff category changes and resignation for medical staff
membership and Health Professional Affiliates (HPA) as outlined in
policies.Performs other duties as assigned or directed. e.g. Serves
