Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/08/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg surgical unit with trauma and orthopedic patient focus, requiring a current NH or compact RN license and Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience. Responsibilities - Position located on a 36-bed adult surgical unit in a hospital setting - Patient population includes orthopedic, trauma, plastics, and general surgery cases - Busy unit focused on mobilizing and rehabilitating post-surgical patients - Day/night rotating shifts required - Telemetry monitoring is part of the unit care - The main responsibility is to mobilize and rehabilitate post-surgical patients - Care involves management of surgical wounds, drains, and various lines and tubes - Must effectively manage both orthopedic and complex trauma patient needs - Holiday and weekend requirements may apply based on the unit schedule Requirements - Active NH or compact RN license required - Current BLS certification required - Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years - Proficient in caring for patients with chest tubes, various tubes, drips (Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone), lines, drains, trachs, and complex wounds - Experience with central line care and blood draws - Telemetry nursing experience required - No local candidates; must reside at least 75 miles from the facility Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-629145.
