Registered Nurse (RN) | Long-Term Care Location: Berlin, NH Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,126 per week Shift Information: Nights - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: LTC/SNF Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Primarily Night, with a few Evenings Hours per Shift: 8 or 16 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in LTC/SNF License: Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Prior LTC/SNF experience Description: The unit includes a total of 100 resident beds, with 96 semi-private and 4 private beds across 2 floors. No locked units are present; dementia and Alzheimer's patients wear a tracker that locks the door if they approach it. The facility uses an EMR system, along with paper charting. Staffing ratios typically range from 1:17-20. If fulfilling the House Supervisor role, the RN will oversee the entire facility. Common patient diagnoses include diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, post-stroke care, heart disease, fractures, dementia, Alzheimer's, rehabilitation, and various chronic conditions. Job duties consist of medication administration, vital sign checks, blood sugar monitoring and management, wound care, ostomy management, foley management, and tube feeding administration, along with assisting team members. Experience in LTC/SNF is mandatory, with a preference for 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are welcome, but experienced travelers are preferred. Occasional IV antibiotics are administered; PICC line management may be required. There are no telemetry monitors in use. Registered Nurses will attend daily interdisciplinary team conferences. A supervisor is present on every shift for support. Physician availability includes daily NP rounds Monday through Friday, with MDs available on specific evenings and twice a month. Off-hours assistance can be obtained by contacting the hospital for an on-call provider. An interdisciplinary team is available, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, social workers, and dieticians. Respiratory therapy is not on-site 24/7; LPNs and RNs manage respiratory treatments and equipment such as CPAP machines. A medication dispensing system is in place, including bubble packs for prescriptions and house stock of generic medications. Shifts are scheduled in advance, and travelers may need to remain flexible to help cover staffing gaps. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Holiday work may also be requested. No on-call or standby requirements exist as coverage is managed by permanent staff. Floating between floors may be necessary. The dress code mandates any color scrubs that appear professional, with specific guidelines on jewelry and hair. Department-specific orientation will occur over 3 shifts with a preceptor.
