This position involves delivering comprehensive clinical pharmacy services, managing drug distribution, educating patients and healthcare colleagues, performing essential administrative duties, and contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives. The pharmacist must adhere strictly to all applicable state and federal healthcare regulations. Key Responsibilities Provide expert clinical pharmacy support to promote safe, appropriate, and cost-effective use of medications Manage drug distribution processes, such as unit dose and IV admixture preparation Educate patients, staff, and students on medication therapies and best practices Carry out administrative functions essential to day-to-day pharmacy operations Participate in departmental research and quality-improvement projects Maintain precise medication records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare personnel to optimize patient care Required Qualifications & Skills Valid Vermont Pharmacist License or ability to obtain upon hire Minimum hospital pharmacy experience (retail pharmacy experience alone is not acceptable), with less than 1 year required Proficiency in unit dose systems, IV admixture preparation, and clinical pharmacy practices Strong computer literacy and familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems (preferably CPSI/Evident) Excellent communication skills and capacity to work independently Keen attention to detail and strong commitment to patient safety Thorough understanding of and adherence to state and federal compliance requirements Core Competencies Clinical decision-making and medication safety Quality assurance and regulatory compliance Patient education and effective communication Collaboration and problem-solving skills Time management and adaptability Self-direction and initiative Skills Keywords: Pharmacist license (Vermont) Hospital pharmacy experience Clinical pharmacy services Drug distribution management Unit dose systems IV admixture preparation Patient education Electronic Medical Records (EMR) proficiency (CPSI/Evident preferred) Medication safety Regulatory compliance Clinical decision-making Collaboration with healthcare teams Communication skills Administrative pharmacy operations Quality improvement participation Time management Problem-solving Attention to detail Independent work capability
