Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/25/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Days, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Mar 25, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 2 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a critical access hospital in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, requiring at least 3 years of acute care experience and a current VT or compact RN license. Details - General Med/Surg unit at a 25-bed critical access hospital - Patient population is primarily adults with occasional pediatric patients; this is not a dedicated pediatric floor - Unit provides medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care - Day shift: 7am–7pm, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week) - Every other weekend required - Meditech EMR experience preferred Requirements - Active VT RN license or multi-state compact RN license currently in hand - Current BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS certifications required prior to start - Minimum 3 years of acute care RN experience required - Peds-only RNs will not be considered for this position Additional Information - Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients, including medical, surgical, and observation cases, with occasional pediatric patients - Collaborate closely with the Clinical Nurse Lead and/or Nursing Supervisor throughout each shift - Accountable to the Unit Director for patient care coordination and clinical decision-making - Care approach emphasizes holistic needs including physiological, psychosocial, spiritual, and developmental considerations - Travelers begin their assignment on Wednesdays - All required credentials must be uploaded five business days prior to the start date American Traveler Job ID P-683690.
