Medical Record systems - Effective communication skills, both
written and verbal - Ability to teach others - Strong
problem-solving and case management skills Description: Assist
patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting
to disabilities. Restore patient physical functioning by
interpreting physical therapy evaluations and test results.
Determine physical therapy treatment goals and plans. Administer
manual exercises. Instruct, encourage, and assist patients in
performing physical activities and in using assistive and
supportive devices. Complete billing sheets accurately by the end
of the day. Evaluate the effects of treatment at various stages and
adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit. Perform patient
assessments and establish a plan of care. Identify and document
goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation. Discuss
evaluations, goals, and treatments with both patients and families.
Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants according to policy and
state regulations. Experience completing an internship or
apprenticeship program is preferred. Knowledge of related
accreditation and certification requirements is important.
