health centers and offer telehealth statewide as part of a network
of 600 Planned Parenthood affiliates nationwide. About the
Residency The Sexual & Reproductive Health Advanced Practice
Clinician (APC) Residency is a full?time, two?year post?graduate
training program designed for new Nurse Practitioners, Certified
Nurse Midwives, and Physician Assistants seeking advanced clinical
experience in sexual and reproductive healthcare. The residency
combines supervised clinical practice, structured learning, and
professional development to support a successful transition to
independent practice. Residents deliver comprehensive sexual and
reproductive healthcare, including: -Gynecologic care and
preventive screenings -Breast and cervical cancer screening
-Gender?affirming careSTI testing, management, and treatment -HIV
prevention (PEP and PrEP)Contraceptive counseling and procedures,
including IUD and implant insertions/removals -Medication abortion
and post?abortion care, including telehealth delivery Throughout
the residency, residents participate in didactics, skills labs,
case conferences, professional development activities, and
mentorship. Your Day to Day: First-Year Responsibilities Provide
patient care under direct supervision during early residency
(typically weeks 1–24, depending on readiness). Transition to
indirect supervision while managing your own patient schedule
(weeks 24–52), with ongoing support from the Residency Director and
preceptors. Participate in procedural training, including IUD and
contraceptive implant insertion and removal. Deliver comprehensive
sexual and reproductive healthcare consistent with PPFA and PPLM
guidelines. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to
support holistic patient care. Attend regular didactic sessions,
professional development workshops, and team meetings. Contribute
to quality improvement initiatives and research projects as
appropriate. Attend professional conferences to enhance clinical
knowledge and networking. Participate in program evaluation and
assist in curriculum development with program leadership.
Second-Year Responsibilities (In addition to all first-year duties)
Provide independent patient care across PPLM health center
locations, with continued mentorship and support from preceptors.
Meet established productivity expectations (approximately 3
patients per hour). Complete a scholarly project (research, quality
improvement initiative, or scholarly writing), with protected time
for professional study. Lead educational activities, including
didactic sessions and journal clubs. Qualifications: Graduation
from an accredited NP, CNM, or PA program within 24 months of
residency start date. Ability to obtain relevant board
certification (AANP/ANCC for NP; AMCB for CNM; NCCPA for PA) before
the program begins. Eligibility for Massachusetts licensure as an
NP, CNM, or PA prior to the start date. Current BLS or ACLS
certification. Ability to travel to PPLM sites as needed. Ability
to obtain and maintain all required clinical credentials and
privileges. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role,
including: Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended
periods Ability to lift up to 20 pounds Sufficient oral, auditory,
and visual abilities to support safe clinical practice and
effective patient communication Compliance with all applicable
regulations, including Title X, OSHA, CLIA, and Massachusetts
Department of Public Health requirements. $46.15 - $46.15 an hour
This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
