Prior experience in food/nutrition institutional setting with minimum of two years administrative/Director responsibility required. Experience with quantity cookery. Demonstrated knowledge of business practices, and local, state and federal statutes and reporting requirements. Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills essential. Candidate will be a team player, self-starter and results oriented. Must have personal automobile or truck available during work day. Meet the physical requirements, per the attached.SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:The Director of Food Services is responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the Food Service Program. In this capacity, the Director will also serve as the lead coordinator for nutrition education in the District. Implement a food service program that will conform to administrative, state, and/or federal requirements and district-wide menu plans that meet students' mandated daily nutritional requirements. Purchase adequate inventory of food and commodities and procure equipment and supplies to provide nutritional services efficiently. Participate in grant programs and the national school lunch program for free and reduced lunch. Monitor food service fund balances and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, related revenues are generated, the food service program operates within budget guidelines, and fiscal practices are followed. Supervise district food service personnel for the purpose of maximizing the productivity of the work force, providing adequate coverage and ensure adherence to health, safety and nutritional standards of food services operations.This notice should not be construed to imply that this is the exclusive list of job functions associated with this position.
