Tissue Procurement Specialist
Posted on: November 23, 2022
We are seeking an experienced tissue procurement expert to help
provide critical research support for oncology and other
therapeutic areas. High quality biomedical research is vitally
dependent on the availability of sample material that allows key
questions to be interrogated. In this role, the successful
candidate will seek out tissue sample sets to support critical
biological research through a combination of work with commercial
vendors and the more complex work of building relationships with
external institutions to supply these needs.
This position will require familiarity with tissue procurement
considerations, including a deep understanding of informed consent
and ethics for human sample acquisition and use. The position will
require familiarity with different sample types that may be sought
(e.g., normal and diseased solid tissues, blood and blood products,
body cavity fluids and the relevance of various preservation
methods), as well as some familiarity with the biological research
for which such samples may be used.
The position will require excellent communication and interpersonal
skills, working collaboratively with internal scientists,
contracting and operations specialists, as well as the ability to
interact smoothly, productively, and with the utmost
professionalism with external partners with whom we will be working
in these undertakings.
The successful candidate will be a strong problem solver,

The successful candidate will have a high level of comfort with
