SummaryReporting to Practice Manager and Program Manager of Wound and Hyperbaric Center and practicing under the supervision of physician. The Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) provides hyperbaric therapy to patients as ordered by the physician and under the supervision of a licensed health care professional. The CHT is responsible for contributing to the multidisciplinary approach to total patient care offered by the Wound and Hyperbaric Center.EducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent.Preferred Associate Degree in Life Sciences/ Health Care.Certification, Registration & LicensureCompleted a National Board of Diving & Hyperbaric Medical Technology (NBDHMT & UHMS)-approved hyperbaric medicine introductory training course and passed certification examCompletion of the requirements with logged hours running Hyperbaric Chambers.Current BLS certificationExperienceAbility to effectively and positively interact with multidisciplinary staff, patients and families. Strong computer skills. Previous experience as Hyperbaric Tech required. CHT, CMA, Diver Medic, EMT, RTResponsibilitiesPrepares patients for treatment by providing orientation, daily safety check, pre and post vital signs, including BP, HR, RR, Temp, pre and post blood glucoses, tympanic membrane evaluation and lung sounds.Reinforces education as it relates to hyperbaric therapy.Performs hyperbaric chamber operations, as required.Keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation.Performs duties and procedures in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.Participates in evaluation of needs and communicates with other members of the health care team.Duties will include administration of hyperbaric oxygen and monitoring the patient during the treatment under the direction of the hyperbaric physician and supervision of licensed health care professional.Provide direct patient care as directed by the supervisor and medical director according to his or her scope of practice, document in the EMR, enter charges as appropriate and work with the team in keeping track of the patient's progress and reevaluation.Assists with cleaning and maintenance of hyperbaric systems, as required.Participates in a quality assurance program.Supports clinical hyperbaric facility accreditation.Manages the safety program.Maintains licensure, competencies, continuing education, and certifications, as appropriate.Concord Hospital is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
