Primary responsibility will be within our emergency department, however you'll also collaborate with our specialty departments. Our specialties include: Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Surgery, Emergency and Critical Care, and i131.VCA CAVES is the only Emergency and Specialty veterinary hospital in Concord, NH.     The ideal candidate meet the following requirements:

    • Certified veterinary technician (preferred) with a minimum of five years technical experience, preferably in an ER setting; prior management skills are preferred.
    • Professional demeanor and appearance, excellent interpersonal skills, and a positive, friendly attitude
    • Ability to plan, organize, make decisions and communicate effectively and clearly with fellow team members, clients and doctors
    • Able to handle multiple tasks at once, and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities
      • Must be able to work full-time hours, flexibility a must, including occasional holidays
      • Strong medical skillsIn the supervisor role you will be primarily be responsible for, but not limited to:
        • Directing work flow on the floor
          • Help with the interview process for potential new hires
          • Technician Scheduling
          • Assists in staffing and coverage where needed
          • Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
          • Assists in basic protocol and standard procedure training
          • Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
          • Mentoring technicians within the department
          • Working with department doctors to develop protocols to improve the service
          • Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.
            This position is a working supervisory position which is responsible for the leadership and the supervision of our staff of approximately 45 Technicians along with the support of another supervisor. We want you to use the skills you have gained over your years in the profession and help you to continue to grow!
